The artist used her hands to carve a boreal forest tree and an eye onto the mug. The dead tree looks cracked and dry, like a desert, shouting quietly about an unhealthy environment. Its once full branches are now just dry outlines, set forever by the kiln's heat. Next to it, the eye has a tiny spark, like us looking at nature, hoping to bring life back.
